Original Photography Archives

Image-based storytelling grounded in place and tradition. A unique body of work documenting everyday life, traditions and landscape in the UAE.

Original Work

Yiannis Roussakis is a photographer and visual artist based in the UAE.

Since 2013, he has developed a distinctive body of work documenting the region’s landscapes, people, and evolving identity.
His practice focuses on quiet observation, cultural depth, and the human presence within place. It is not reportage — it is a testimony to how heritage lives, fades, and transforms.

UAE Heritage Archive

This photographic archive is the result of years of dedicated work across the UAE, portraying everyday life in the desert, festive gatherings, camel auctions, and cultural practices in a vibrant and comprehensive collection. More than just documenting folklore, it seeks to reveal the humanity at the core of Bedouin heritage.

Celebrated by the media and embraced by the public, this UAE heritage collection remains an ongoing endeavor, with new material added regularly from a substantial store of raw footage gathered over the years.

We create commissioned photographic work for clients who value originality and cultural relevance — from institutions and developers to curators and designers.

Each project begins with a conversation and develops through careful observation, site visits, and creative research.

The result is bespoke, meaningful visual work that reflects the environment it’s placed in.
